Pierce Sweeney has given his thoughts ahead of City's league clash with Lincoln at St James Park this weekend.
The Imps visit Devon on a ten-match unbeaten run - though they have drawn seven - but the Irishman is expecting a difficult game against a a side just one place above to Grecians in the table.
"They are close to us in the table so it will be a good game and one I'm looking forward to," he said.
"We've come a long way since that first day of the season, and I think they would say they've come a long way under their manager too. We're certainly really happy with where we are in the table at the moment.
"For a newly-promoted side to be sitting where we are in the league at the moment, with our budget against some of the sides we're coming up against is really positive."
