City under-18s are in FA Youth Cup Second Round action this Friday when they face Hemel Hempstead Town away from home.
The Grecians progressed to the second round after a thrilling 5-3 extra time win at Reading City earlier this month, with Tom Dean, Alfie Cunningham, Callum Graham, Theo Cutler and an own goal sending the academy through.
Hemel Hempstead beat Takeley 4-0 at home to progress, with George Still contributing a hat-trick for the home side. The Tudors currently sit second in the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League, with ten points from their four matches but are just two points behind Kings Langley who have played three games more.
City come into the game on the back of an entertaining 3-3 against Portsmouth in the Youth Alliance South-West - denying Pompey the chance to go top of the league.
City's Youth Cup History
The Grecians reached the third round in the last two seasons with a 4-3 win over Newport County and a 3-0 win at Forest Green, before being dumped out by Oxford United a following a 3-1 loss in 2022. A 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth ended the 2021 run.
