The Valley was re-opened in December 1992 and since Charlton's return, the ground has been majorly redeveloped and can now hold over 27,000 supporters.

There is space for up to 3,000 visiting supporters in the Jimmy Seed Stand at the south end of the ground. This build is above pitch level, making for very good views of the playing surface.

How to get there

By Car

The Valley’s postcode is SE7 8BL. You can plan your journey, which will take around 4 hours if leaving from Exeter

By Train

Charlton station is the nearest train station to The Valley and is just a three-minute walk away. Charlton station is served by trains travelling from London Cannon Street, London Charing Cross, Dartford and Gillingham.

By Tube

North Greenwich is the closest tube station to The Valley. Located right outside of the O2 Arena, North Greenwich is served by the Jubilee Line and also has a large bus stop.

Grecian Travel

Grecian Travel, completely run by the Supporters' Club, and not for profit, will be available for City's trip to Burton. 

  • The coach will depart from Unit 1 nightclub at 1pm for a fare of Â£39.

Other pick-up points include: Honiton Road park and ride (by Miller and Carter Steakhouse), junction 28 (Cullompton services), junction 27 (Tiverton), junction 25 (Taunton). All other pick-ups by prior arrangement.

Currently Grecian Travel can only be booked directly.

Parking

There is street parking available close to the ground but please be careful as some nearby streets are permit holders only.

Turnstiles

The Valley’s turnstiles open 90 minutes before the match is due to start, so at 6:15pm on Tuesday night.

Food

A range of food and drink options are available inside the stadium. There is a food kiosk located near to the entrance turnstiles.

Nearest Cashpoint

While there is a cash machine located on the side of The Valley Superstore, the stadium itself is becoming cashless. This means that no cash will be accepted for any transactions in the stadium and we would advise people to make sure that they bring a payment card with them. There are also cashpoints located outside of Charlton train station on either side of the road.

Pubs for Away Fans

The Angerstein Hotel is open for away fans, this is a 10 minute walk from the stadium in the direction of Greenwich. The nearest station is Westcombe Park Station.

The 02 Arena

Greenwich Market, the National Maritime Museum, the Cutty Sark and the Old Royal Naval College are just a few things that this wonderful part of south London has to offer.

As well as this, Greenwich Park, one of the Royal parks of London, is located between Blackheath and Greenwich itself and offers stunning views of capital’s skyline and the Naval College.

Central London

Hop on a train at Charlton station - just a three-minute walk from The Valley - and you can be in central London in under 20 minutes. Once you arrive, London is your oyster...

The centre of the capital is also reachable from Charlton by bus, the
53 from Charlton Village and 188 from North Greenwich station, while the Jubilee Line can also be boarded from North Greenwich.

The total distance from Exeter to the Valley is 208 miles and will take just under four hours each way.
