Midfielder Harry Kite is back from injury and looking forward to gaining more minutes as City take on Northampton Town.
Kite suffered a knee injury in pre-season and made his appearance of the season at Oxford United last Saturday, before making a further appearance off the bench in Tuesday's impressive 1-0 win over Luton Town in the Carabao Cup.
"It had been difficult," Harry said, speaking about the layoff.
"We're 8-9 weeks from the operation now and it's good to be back. Time went so slow but it's great to be back in the fold and back on the pitch.
"It's great to have such competition and it's so healthy. If you want to do well and progress, you need it in thiose place. Squad depth is so important.
"It's exciting to buy into the new style we're playing, and I'm enjoying being a part of it and it's nice when the players trust that it works.
"Northampton are usually a very physical side and I expect a but of rough and tumble."
