Alex Hartridge has given his thoughts as he returned to St James Park on loan from fellow League One side Wycombe Wanderers.
The 25-year-old, who made 154 appearances in red and white up until the end of last season, is back in Devon until the end of the 2024-25 season, and he is delighted to return.
"My drive across town today took me down memory lane, and I didn't think I would be back so soon. I fit the role the club are looking for, and it has been so good being back for just an hour or so and having so many people saying hello, putting a smile on my face.
"I didn't have to think about it too much when I got the first contact. How it made me feel, I knew it was something I wanted to do. I have found minutes hard to come by after moving elsewhere due to the team that is playing doing so well.
"I'm so glad to be back playing for a team that means so much to me - my club."
