Defender Alex Hartridge has given his thoughts ahead of Exeter City's clash with Shrewsbury Town at SJP on Saturday.

The on-loan Wycombe defender has made five appearances since his return to the Grecians in January has settled back into the new-look defence, playing an instrumental part in the goalless draw at Reading on Tuesday night.

"It was a good point and a good performance, and in the changing room we were all sat wondering how we didn't win... It's a good point if we back it up on Saturday, but the result has to give us confidence."

"It's a new group and new defence for me so it has been really good to move together as a unit and know what one another is going to do. We've had a lot of time on the pitch together in the last few weeks.

"We are going to need to defend really well on Saturday, as Shrewsbury are a team who are going to give us lots of defensive actions to complete. If we can cover the spaces we need and react to what happens, and we need to add the final touch of scoring at the other end."
