City’s PDP Coach Dan Green has given his assessment as the Grecians secured save passage to the knockout stages of the Bristol Street Motors with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur U21s.
Milli Alli and Jake Richards were on the scoresheet – the latter a sublime free-kick – on a night where several academy players featured.
“We are really pleased. We set out to win, but we also wanted to come out of it with players that pushed to make the squad more competitive and we really think it has provided that."
“The next point in the competition for us is to ensure that we secure a home tie in the next round so still have to appreciate the final game at Bristol Rovers as just as important.
“What we are focusing on in this games is to really focus on building some momentum in certain players and we have built a fixture provision for them to really showcase their ability and push for those first team spot."
