Demetri Mitchell signs new City contract!

Demetri Mitchell celebrating after Exeter City's win over Luton Town

We are delighted to announce that Demetri Mitchell has signed a one-year contract with the club, extending his stay until the end of the 2024/25 League One season.

Mitchell joined the club in January 2023 and has made 32 appearances in red and white, scoring five goals across two separate season. Demi suffered an ACL injury in City’s 3-2 Carabao Cup loss to Middlesbrough in October 2023 and has since been working hard on his recovery. He is set to return to playing action in pre-season after an eight month lay-off.

“It feels so good to sign that new contract,” Demi said.

“To be fair, I kind of gave it away on social media, I did the club an injustice to announce it! It was an easy decision for me after speaking to the manager, and some of the fans too."

“The club feels really close to me and I feel like I’ve been here longer than I have really. The manager had a really good understanding of my injury and coming back. I might not hit the ground running, but give me six weeks, you know! I feel like the club really understands me as a person as well.”

Manager Gary Caldwell said: “Demi is massive player for us who has been brilliant since he signed for us, and he was a huge loss for us last year when he had his serious knee injury.

“He has worked extremely hard and is fully fit and ready to go and we are delighted to sign him up for another year.”
