Ed James pre Norwich

Exeter City academy graduate Ed James has given his thoughts ahead of Wednesday night's Premier League Cup clash with Norwich City under the lights at SJP.

Defender Ed was part of the team that beat Bromley 4-1 in City's first match of the campaign and also started in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy win over Swindon Town and is keen to get as many minutes in a City shirt as he can.

"It's been a good start for me, said Ed. "To get games in a City shirt I'm happy to do anything. Each chance I get to play at the Park, I'm always 100% up for it and we've got more games coming up in the Premier League Cup."

These are games that I can show the gaffer what I can do, so I'm excited.

Speaking of plans for Ed this season, he said: "Gary said that he doesn't think I need to go out on loan and will get more from training with League One players day in, day out."

On Wednesday night's opponents, Ed said: "We've looked at clips of how they play. They are a Championship side and have an interesting way of playing from what we've seen so far.

"We believe we can exploit them and it should be a good game."

For me personally the competition is massive as I get to put on a City shirt and there are a lot of people watching. The gaffer and the staff watching and it's good minutes against good opposition."
