Exeter City Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Gorman as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Joe, who joined the club as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) last October, brings a variety of experience in multiple industries and a strong aptitude for financial control, forecasting and financial planning, as well as having a wide range of commercial and operational experience.
As Chief Executive, Joe will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of the club. This includes overseeing all business functions such as finance, marketing, and HR and ensuring the club operates efficiently and sustainably. He will work closely with the board of directors to develop long-term strategies and make key decisions that align with the club’s goals and values.
In his role as CFO, he has been part of the team led by interim Chief Executive Jeremy Tipper which has been responsible for significant developments across the club over the last year, building on the successes of the last few seasons.
Joe takes on the position from Jeremy Tipper, who was appointed interim Chief Executive last year.

He has been fundamental in our development off the pitch in this time, instigating and delivering many changes and improvements across the club, including the recruitment of the new executive team. Indeed, Joe’s appointment is a significant outcome of Jeremy’s strategic succession planning.
“In addition to this he has brought in several new roles at the Cliff Hill Training Ground with a focus on improving the performance on the pitch.”
