Budding comedians will have the opportunity to explore their skills at a comedy course funded through the Exeter City Community Fund.
The six-week course is being delivered by Alright Mate? CIC – one of our Exeter City Community Fund beneficiaries. And there’s still time to sign up!
The course, which begins on September 24 and runs until November 5, is led by award-winning comedian and comedy educator Angie Belcher. It offers aspiring funnymen the chance to develop their comedic voice, gain confidence, and perform live on stage.
Whether you’ve always wanted to try stand-up or are simply looking for a fun way to build confidence, this course provides the perfect platform. Over the six weeks, participants will craft their own 5-minute stand-up routine, receiving personal feedback and guidance from Angie.
Nick Hawker, chair of Exeter City Supporters’ Trust, said: “Through our Community Fund donations we have been able to contribute to Alright Mate’s delivery of this course. We’re grateful to every supporter who donates to the Community Fund, which helps six local charities.”
The price for the course is £150, with the dates being 24th September, 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd October and 5th November.
The course will culminate in a live performance on November 17 at The Bootlegger, where participants will have the chance to showcase their new material in front of a live audience.
