Following the Grecians' 1-1 draw with Northampton at SJP, Gary Caldwell gave his reaction.
Sonny Cox's first goal of the season salvaged a point late on under the early spring sun, and Gary was pleased with the way his players fought to the end.
"I thought the players deserved a lot of credit for hanging in to a game that was not pretty at all, on a pitch that isn't great and is getting worse.
"The players hung in, kept going, I thought the finishers were outstanding and they all contributed in a difficult moment."
Gary explained how he had to make a decision whether or not to put the goalscorer Cox on the bench, and so he was pleased with the academy graduate's impact when he came on.
"It was a really close call between Andrew and Sonny and we put Sonny on the bench late, he's not played a lot of football but he came on and was magnificent.
