Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as Exeter City prepare to take on Barnsley at St James Park on Saturday.
City head into the weekend's match having suffered a 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City in the Vertu Trophy on Tuesday night, though Caldwell was pleased with the performance from his much changed side. Barnsley were also beaten by the Blues on Saturday by the same scoreline in the league.
"We've learnt a lot in the last few weeks. We've played Birmingham, Wrexham, Wycombe and Stockport, and we wanted to see progress in belief and progress in understanding, and even though we haven't got the results, we think we have seen progression, even looking at stats alone.
"We have to keep focusing on process and performance and if we do that and we get better, then I'm sure we can win a lot of games between now and the end of the season."
