Gary Caldwell previews trip to Barnsley

Gary Caldwell interview pre Barnsley

Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts ahead of Exeter City's trip to Barnsley on Tuesday night, as they look to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat to Wrexham that ended a six match unbeaten run.

City head to Oakwell with just one defeat in their last five away matches - the last three of which have been drawn - and will look to pick up a third consecutive win at the venue after 2-0 and 2-1 wins in the last two seasons. Caldwell expects a tough test against a side who have recently had a change of manager.

"They have a young manager and the style has changed quite considerably. There have been progressions within those changes so we have to flexible in how we approach the game as we're not quite sure how they will set up."

"We will prepare the players for that. The big thing for us is focusing on what we are going to do and how we are going to cause them problems and be positive in the game.

"Having the ability to adapt out of possession is the most important thing.

"The good thing with Saturday-Tuesday games is the quick turnaround because when you lose a game it's great to have another around the corner because you don't have time to dwell on it and you have to move on."
