After City were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the first round to Walsall, Gary Caldwell gave his reaction.
Millenic Alli's first half goal put the Grecians 1-0 up and, despite Joe Whitworth saving a penalty, a 93rd minute equaliser took the game to a shootout, where Walsall came out victors.
Manager Gary Caldwell wasn't happy with his team's performance throughout the 90 minutes though.
"We made too many bad decisions tonight, around our own box we were a little bit disrespectful in terms of trying to flick balls out of trouble," Gary said.
"That's not us, I said that before the game to the players, we have to take this one on the chin."
The fixture did give Gary an opportunity to rotate his side though, giving vital experience to young players like Pedro Borges and also a debut for Liam Oakes.
"I think when you give young players opportunities in games like this, stadiums like this, they have to learn the hard way.
"It's a different environment to what they've ever faced before - Liam Oakes in particular; Pedro has some experience of it.
"I think no matter how it goes for them as a young player you have to use that experience."
