Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as the Grecians celebrated his 100th game in charge with a win against Shrewsbury Town at the Croud Meadow.

Kamari Doyle's early get set City on their way, but Caldwell's side had to soak up pressure for the remainder of the first half before Josh Magennis marked his return from international duty with his first goal for the club.

"The spirit of this group of players and the will to keep a clean sheet, that takes you a long way."
Gary Caldwell

"That has taken us to fourth, but like I have just said to the players, we haven't even scratched the surface of our potential with this team.

"Joe Whitworth is just doing his job, and I can't speak highly of him. He is a sensational character, for someone so young his mentality and professionalism has been first class. Even early when he made mistakes, we always had belief in him.

"It's the first time this club has even kept five clean sheets in a row and that is something we are proud of. The players deserve so much credit, right from the top of the pitch back."
