Gary Caldwell says his side had a ‘brilliant workout’ after an entertaining victory over non-league Yeovil on Friday.
Speaking after City’s 3-1 win over the Somerset outfit, the City boss has praised the hosts:
“We have to say thanks to Yeovil for putting the game on. It was a brilliant pitch. I thought they tried to play and were very good.
“It gave us a chance to change how we pressed and how we approached the game. The first goal came from winning the ball back and counter attacking."
Three academy products found the net and Caldwell has faith in his youngsters.
“The second half was great.
“We saw a brilliant run and penalty from Santino Ohanaka and a fantastic finish from Kieran Wilson. They showed that great personality they will need to be footballers.
“Joe Whitworth made a mistake and made up for it with a great penalty save. Even after giving the penalty away we then made good decisions to hold out for the win.”
