After spending just over two months out injured, Jack Fitzwater returned to the squad and the starting lineup this evening against Wigan Athletic.

Wigan opened the scoring with a penalty early in the second half, but City levelled 20 minutes later, and the Grecians had the momentum heading towards the end of the game but couldn't find a winner.

"Tonight we were desperate for the three points and in the second half we were a lot better," said Jack.

"When the Bank got behind us in the second half, they could see the effort and desire we were giving on the pitch and another day we would've won that game."

The defender has been out injured but after working hard on his recovery he earned his chance back in the team this evening.

"I've been out now since January 23rd, I had a hamstring tear. I've been working really hard with the medical team and some of the other boys. I didn't think I'd get back this quick so I'm really happy that it's gone the way it has and when the gaffer told me I was playing yesterday I was buzzing."
