Jack McMillan gave his thoughts as he made his first Exeter City appearance at Tiverton Town on Tuesday evening.
The Scot played the first 45 minutes at the Ian Moorcroft Stadium, and was pleased to put on the red and white shirt for the first time.
"That felt really good and I enjoyed it, learning new ways to play and finding out how the gaffer wants us to play, so overall it was a good 45," Jack said.
"It's a new position for me and I'm finding out new runs I'm not used to, and building those new relationships.
"Fitness wise I felt pretty good and I've trained every day. I felt strong going into the game, despite a more intense pre-season. It'll only stand us in good stead for the season."
