Newest Grecian, Josh Magennis has given his first interview after joining the club on Thursday afternoon.

Northern Ireland international Magennis, who joins the club after his release from Wigan Athletic at the end of last season, heads to Devon looking to be an experienced head within the squad and making an impact at his new club.

"This has been in the works for a while, and the communication has been nothing but positive throughout, so it feels really good to get it over the line," Josh said.

"tt conversation and I think there's a lot more that goes into football matches than the 90 minutes, and it he reiterated the dynamic he expects from me in the dressing room whether I'm playing or not.

"That's me helping the youngsters and pushing others forward, as well as helping my own career. I I was lucky enough to be captain [at Wigan] last season and enjoyed that role, I enjoy carrying the mantle of being a senior player so hopefully I can use that as a positive.

In a recent interview, Magennis shared his ambition to reach 100 caps for his country - he is currently on 79 - and he feels like St James Park is the perfect place to play his football and achieve his dream.

"This is a prestigious club, it's a fan run club with emotion, and community focused and I've seen that early on. At no point did I come here and think my international career wouldn't continue to flourish and progress. "

"My aim is to get 100 and I fully think I will be able to achieve that here at Exeter City, but in football nothing is a given so first and foremost I have to stake my claim in the team here and put in performances that warrant a call up to the national team."
