After starting his first match of the season, Kevin McDonald shared his thoughts on City's 2-2 draw against Wycombe Wanderers.
City went 2-0 within the first 22 minutes before the league leaders pulled it back level with a goal either side of half time.
"To be a realist, we started really well and took advantage of good play and were the dominant team for the first part of the game," Kev said.
"But they grew into the game, we knew they were going to have good spells - they're at the top of the league and won eleven in a row for a reason."
Since rejoining the Grecians last month on a short term deal, the centre midfielder has only made a couple of substitute appearances, with this being his first start.
"I played 60 minutes against Norwich and I needed that 60 minutes in a under-21s game. Got that again tonight, and it probably wasn't one of my best performances but I'm absolutely ok with that because it's great to go up against one of the best teams in the league.
"It's the first start and hopefully there's more."
