Match Preview: Blackpool

Exeter City are back in League One action at the Park on Saturday, as Blackpool make the trip to Devon for a 3pm kick-off.

City will be looking to build on Tuesday night's late point against Peterborough United, as Millenic All's goal put an end to three straight defeats in League One.

The Seasiders visit SJP sitting in 15th in the league, just one place below City and come to SJP on the back of a strong 2-2 draw with high-flying Huddersfield Town on Saturday. They have drawn their last four league matches.

Your passionate support is often the difference maker at the Park and we need you on Saturday as we look to get back to winning ways!

Kevin Nicholson's Thoughts

City will be looking to build on Tuesday night's late point away at Peterborough United when they host as Seasiders side that are on the back of four straight draws.

"They have an experienced manager in Steve Bruce. They are going to be well coached and well drilled," said Kev.

"They will be on the front foot and it's for us to take that sting out and take the ball away from them. We have to do all the stuff we can do better than at Peterborough - quicker and more assertive playing forward.

"It will be a test and a clash of styles and a clash probably of formations so it will be interesting. They are a good team on their day with good player so we have to make sure we are at our best.

Previous Encounter

Blackpool 2 Exeter City 1 | 14/9/24 | EFL Sky Bet League One

A last-gasp Blackpool winner saw Exeter City leave the seaside empty-handed, despite scoring their first goal at Bloomfield Road since 1979.

The Grecians struggled to find their rhythm in the first half and went into the break deservedly 1-0 down. However, a triple substitution midway through the second half sparked a resurgence. One of those substitutes, Ed Francis, ignited the away end with a superb, pinpoint free-kick to equalize in the 88th minute. But Blackpool had the final say, snatching all three points with an even later goal from a corner.
