Exeter City hit the road for the first time in Sky Bet League One this season as they head to Sixfields to take on Northampton Town, looking to bounce back from Tuesday's Carabao Cup defeat at Walsall.
The Grecians started the season in fine form, winning 1-0 at home to Rotherham United last weekend, while the Cobblers have suffered defeat in both league and cup so far - 1-0 at Bristol Rovers and 2-0 at home to Wycombe Wanderers.
Gary Caldwell's Thoughts
"We know how challenging it will be, I know how well set up as a team Northampton are. They're going to pose us a lot of problems and we have to be prepared for that."
"We have to be competitive again like we were on Saturday and get back to that performance if we want to win."
It was only a couple of months ago that City last travelled to Sixfields, winning 2-1 thanks to Will Aimson's late winner in a resilient performance after Ryan Woods' red card reduced the Grecians to 10 men. However, Gary believes that there will be some changes to the Cobblers team tactically to the side faced in April.
"They have been a little bit different, they've changed their system a couple of times. They've not played as much football - they've lost some good midfield players," Gary said.
"They've not played as much football and instead looked to play it long to forward players, pick up second balls and attack from there."

Previous Encounter
Northampton Town 1 Exeter City 2 | 20/04/24 | Sky Bet League One
City were victorious just four months ago at Sixfields thanks to goals from Luke Harris and Will Aimson, though Ryan Woods was sent off just before half time. Harris opened the scoring before Woods was sent off, and Northampton equalised in the second half, but ten-man City resolutely fought back to pick uop a fine away win.
