After City's added time defeat against Bolton Wanderers, midfield Ryan Woods shared his thoughts.
The Grecians took the lead midway through the second half through Demetri Mitchell, however two goals in the final few minutes from the visitors stole all three points at St James Park.
"Extremely disappointed, extremely frustrated," said Ryan, summarising his thoughts on the game. "It's a game we felt comfortable in, in and out of possession, the way we set up caused them a lot of problems.
"We took the lead and at that point we could see one winner really, but unfortunately we've conceded two really poor goals on our behalf."
It was the second time in a month City have lost at home after taking the lead, however Ryan and the squad are working hard on finding a solution for that.
"When we play our way, we call it, we're a real match for anyone. I think we've proved it in the last two games against Wycombe who are at the top of the league and Bolton who are a really big club in this division.
"For some reason at the moment when we take the lead we come away from that a little bit, and we've got to find that reason."
