As part of our effort to improve match day experience for all at St James Park we have taken on board the feedback from our latest Family Excellence Award visit.
We have introduced a new family area on the Thatchers Cider Big Bank which is aimed at ensuring families are able to enjoy watching the match in the stand.
Whilst not exclusive to families, the behaviour of supporters in this area should reflect the nature of our younger supporters being present and the additional stewarding will be here to help people in this area with any issues that may arise. The area is located between pillars X and Y behind the wheelchair area.
The area has been identified by having white barriers and the stepped terracing are painted red. We will look to ensure the maps around the stadium are updated at the earliest opportunity to reflect this change.
No specific tickets will be required and entrance is via the normal way. We are simply aiming to provide an area that reflects the family nature of our club and support those who want to enjoy the atmosphere of the Big Bank in a family friendly way.
