Match Preview graphic for Exeter City Women v Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday, March 12 - 7.45pm, at Coach Road

It's the Devon Derby at Coach Road on Wednesday evening, as Exeter City Women host Plymouth Argyle in the Women's National League Southern Premier.

This is the third meeting between the sides this season, with the Grecians winning the first two meetings at Home Park 3-0 and 5-1. With both teams fighting for points at either end of the table, it promises to be a feisty encounter under the lights, and one where we need your backing!

The Opposition

James Bradley brings his Plymouth Argyle side to Coach Road on Wednesday evening for the third out of four Devon Derbies this season.

Bradley took over from the departed Ryan Perks at the end of February and will be keen to continue the good run of form that the Pilgrims are currently in. A home win over Lewes (2-1) was followed by an impressive late win at AFC Wimbledon (2-1), and a 2-2 draw with Billericay in the Greens last league fixture ensuring that they are in the fight to retain their Premiership South status for next season.

Plymouth have a number of experienced players to call in on the run in, as Caitlin Smith, Georgia Wilson and Ava Kuyken all have experience of playing in the Championship whilst Argyle regulars Immy Crawford, Panagiota Papaioannou, and Charlotte Whitmore all have experience of successfully negotiating tight relegation battles.

The Programme

On sale around the ground on Wednesday, the Grecian matchday programme is fantastic value for £1, packed with content to keep you entertained throughout your evening!

Coach Road

Promotion to the third tier of women's football meant that City had to search for a new home alongside St James Park for the 2024/25 season, resulting in Newton Abbot's Coach Road as the team's second home venue.

Because of the larger crowd expected at Coach Road on Wednesday, we'd like to encourage all supporters to leave plenty of time to reach Coach Road ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off.

Previous Encounter

The two teams have met twice already this season, with City winning on both occasions at Home Park. The latest of which came in the second round of the Adobe Women's FA Cup, where goals from Sarah Stacey (2), Mollie Taylor, Sophie Gillies and George Barbour-Gresham sealed an emphatic 5-1 victory ⬇️
