Tim Dieng is looking forward to the Sky Bet League One season, speaking as the team took to the pitch for the first time since it’s summer renovation.
“It’s so good to be back here and I’m looking forward to seeing this place full of fans and rocking. We’re all fit now and ready for the season,” he said.
“I’m confident, we’ve got good quality in the squad and we’re ready for it. Most of the players are still here, we’ve only lost Cam [Dawson] and we know each other very well. That’s positive.”
Pre-season has gifted the opportunity of minutes for several of the under-18 squad, and Tim has been impressed with the quality of the likes of Pedro Borges, Alfie Clark, Gabe Billington and Harrison King.
“There is a lot of quality in the academy and its nice for them to come and train with the first team, I think they will gain a lot of experience... we see them pushing and it means we have to perform or else they’ll take our shirts.”
With the big kick off at Lincoln just nine days away, the message is clear from City’s silky Frenchman.
“For the fans it will be important for us to win this game.”
