Changes to the Matchday experience

SJP drone

Welcome back to SJP! We look forward to see you back at our home when we face Rotherham United on Saturday for a 5.30 kick-off.

In order for you to enjoy the match day to the fullest extent, we’d like to communicate a few changes to your match day experience so there are no sudden surprises!

Bars and Kiosks

Centre Spot: We’ve made some tweaks to Centre Spot to improve speed of service and we’ve also upgraded the furniture with some comfier seating and tables, which is just the start of some planned improvements. Our brand new Shift4 till system is an upgrade on our previous set-up, with a speedier interface for our staff to enable them to serve supporters quicker.

On Saturday, Centre Spot will open at 12pm and show the early Championship kick-off between Cardiff City and Sunderland, followed by the Manchester Derby in the Community Shield at 3pm giving fans the opportunity to watch two live games before the big kick-off.

The Centre Spot opening times will vary throughout the season, dependant on any live TV matches being shown, but the general expected times are: 11am for a 3pm match, 9am for a 12.30pm match, and 12pm for a 5.30pm match.

Jungle Path Bar: The Jungle Path bar will be open 35 minutes into the first half and will close 10 minutes into the second half.

Optimising IT Adam Stansfield Stand: The bar in the Adam Stansfield Stand will be open immediately when turnstiles open and will close ten minutes before kick-off to allow fans to take their seats. It will then reopen 5 minutes into the first half and close once the thoroughfare has emptied of fans after full time.

The food kiosk will remain open throughout the match.

Drinks: There have been some changes to the drinks offerings in the bars across St James Park. The £1 reusable cup offering remains in place, where supporters can either keep the cup, return it for £1 cash or pop it in the designated bins where £1 will be donated to one of six club partner charities. The below price list is an indicator and not exhaustive:

  • Carlsberg: £5.00
