Following a successful fundraising campaign which raised £25,000 in donations to create a covered area over the Fan Zone, we are pleased to announce that the club has now been granted planning permission to go ahead with the installation.
Thanks to the generous donations of our supporters, we were able to enhance the original canopy design as well as buying six new picnic benches, made from recycled material.
Following planning approval, the order has now been placed for the canopy. An amendment was made to the plans to remove the permanent catering unit for this area to allow the planning process to progress. The catering unit will be submitted under separate application at a later date to allow for the required information to be collated
The club is extremely grateful for the support that has been provided for this project thanks to the fundraising.
Elaine Davis, who led the fundraising campaign, said: “This is great news, we hope the canopy will enhance the supporter experience in the Fan Zone - especially in bad weather!
"I would like to thank everyone who has donated individually or via supporter groups to the £25,000 raised towards this project.”
We expect the installation of the canopy to take place in six to eight weeks and will provide further clarity once dates have been confirmed. Kenniford Farm will continue to provide food within the Fan Zone area until the club is able to install its own catering provision.
Thanks to everyone who has supported this project. We hope that supporters will be able to enjoy a pre-match drink in all weathers in the coming months.
