After the Grecians lost 1-0 away at Birmingham City, Jack Fitzwater stayed behind to stayed behind to share his reaction.
Ethan Laird's goal two minutes into first half stoppage time was the difference between the two sides, in a defensive performance where City struggled to impact the Blues' goal.
"I think everyone's quite deflated really, I don't think we showed ourselves in the forward areas like we normally do.
"We didn't create a lot, the gaffer's touched on it, having belief when we come to stadiums like this, but we've got to be braver on the ball in possession."
However, there were positives that the team can take into Tuesday night's game at Peterborough.
"The effort, the endeavour, the character of the team especially in the second half, we actually showed a reaction, but we've got to be better, especially on Tuesday."
